MK.Ia. 1:48

History
The Supermarine Spitfire and it's place in Battle of Britain needs no presentation ?

THE KIT & BUILD NOTES:
I've always wanted to build a Spitfire in 1:48 and when Tamiya issue their last one I knew time has arrived.
The kit almost builds itself, with almost no putty needed (and sometimes almost no glue too).
I super detailed the cockpit with some hires, just for fun.

PAINTING
As usual, I used Mr. Hobby Color.
Painting was quite straightforward, with no pre-shading, just some tonal variations and some post-shading. Camo was free hand but reproducing the real scheme.
After decaling, some oils where used.

Hope you enjoy,
Cheers,
Manuel @magrus

  1. Simply lovely Manuel. Thanks for sharing the excellent details that are packed into the cockpit, it's a shame it has to be sealed up.

  2. That is a very nice model of a really good looking aircraft. Great paint and weathering.

  3. Beautiful work and a very realistic result.

  4. The first word to come to my mind "Charming" . I had to sit down Manuel and visit your photos and take everything in and study them to get a good feel for this model of yours.

This is a beautiful build, and it looks simply amazing. This one has everything right ! The paint, the weathering, the grime, additional details, ... Perfect !
Another nice touch is the original photo of the plane. Having that is like having gold...(or right now a N-95 mask).

Stay safe my friend... and this too shall pass.

Two big thumbs up and a "liked".

  9. Another great model Manuel. Óptimo modelo mesmo, parabéns!

  10. Handsome Spit, and the paint and weathering look fabulous!
