Lockheed F-80C Shooting Star Airfix 1/72
This is Airfix Kit 02043-3 Lockheed F-80C Shooting Star belonging to the 25th Fighter Squadron (Fall 1951) another build for the ‘Korea : The Forgotten War……' GB.
This kit was finished in about a week. I had the kit for a LONG time but it wasn't until I found a set of 2nd hand set of Micro Scale Decals that I figured it was worth a go.
This kit is an oldie but still a bit of goodie; although, the inlet ducts were not that cooperative and did need some attention. Also on the good side, there actually was a tub design cockpit with a panel and seat but I decided to leave the pilot out.

Congratulations on your build, George!
You turned this old sweetie into a very attractive F-80.
I had the pleasure to follow your build and it was such an enjoyable experience.
I just love seing old'n'classic kits being built!
Well done!
Thanks for following the build Spiros. I have more than a few of these older kits.
Incredible you did this in just one week, George.
Beautifully done.
Thanks John, not having to worry about a camo scheme helped.
Nice work! That’s still a decent kit and you got the most out of it.
Thanks John, the kit did surprise me with the detail in the wheel wells and some basic but workable cockpit components.
Great result with not-so-great raw material George. A triumph of skill over plastic.
Thanks Tom, I got a decent looking F-80 and I got to learn a few more facts about the Korean War.
She came out mighty fine! Having followed your build, I can say you took a rough diamond and made it shine in all the right places! Well done George!
Thanks for the comments and following the build Morne.
Great job, looks great. I forgot about this old kit, I did one so many years ago.
Thanks Robert @roofrat
I tried fooling around with one of my digital cameras and some snow that we had the last day, what do you think of the photo?
