McDonnell Douglas F-4J Phantom II
McDonnell Douglas F-4J Phantom II
Hi all!
This is my F-4J from Zoukei Mura in 1:48. It’s completely OOB with just some seat belts from Eduard as the kit has none.
The kit is amazing, and turn into a nice model with a little effort, I highly recommend.
The paint scheme is quite colorful as any CAG bird (*), but I liked it π
I finished this model last december but had been waiting for it’s publication on “Scale Modelling Now” until today. You can see full article and more photos there.
Hope you like,
Cheers,
Manuel
(*) From wikipedia: βCAG bird is a specially painted aircraft, officially flown by the commanding officer of United States Navy Carrier Air Groups. Every carrier-based aircraft squadron of the United States Navy has such an aircraft that wears modex usually ending with the ’00’ numbers. Due to their striking, colorful paint schemes, enthusiasts such as modelers and aircraft photographers show great interest in these aircraft.β
Easy choice, donβt you agree?

Love that, being the Phantom Phanatic that I am! The paint work and all the details are beautiful. Well done.

Thanks Greg! @gkittinger
It’s a beautiful kit. As a Phamatic (I’ve seen some of yours before), if you ever want to try a 1:48 one, consider this kit.

Phabulous Phantom. One of the best I have seen thus far! I like the fact you built it OOB. Shows skill can replace cash in the hands of a good modeler!

Thank you @michel-verschuere , you’re very kind!
The kit is very good indeed, apart from the seat belts, there’s no great need for after markets. Yes, I scratched a bit, but just a little bit (a couple of wires in the cockpit and on the seats, engine and its trolley).

I go with our friend Michel above, Manuel @margus: this is one the best Phantoms I have ever seen. The kit might be nice, but your work is excellent.
Well done!

Thanks Spiros @fiveten (mine’s @magrus, not @margus ;-))
You are too kind. I deeply appreciate.
I’m truly glad you guys are liking my F-4. In a month or so I will publish the full article here.

Too careless typing in my mobile, plus the now famous “WordPress error”, plus no double check by yours truly….so, you get the message, my friend @magrus!

The F-4 to me has always been one of those planes that just looks like it’s ready to kick some backside sitting on the ramp. Very nicely done Manuel!
Manuel Magrinho said on January 15, 2021
Yes it does π I totally agree!
Thank you

Super work and that cockpit is amazing. Looks like the one I sat in for “the world’s best rollercoaster ride” back in 1982.

It’s almost OOB, except for the seat belts and some wiring. A really good kit

Professional rhymes with inspirational. Green with envy.
I call these box top builds something that the manufacture would be proud to have on their box.
Two thumbs up Manuel.
