Grumman G-21 Goose TARYTA – Czech Model 1/48
Hi! This is my recently finished Grumman Goose from Czech Model in 1/48. As many of this short run kits, has molded and resin parts. Make some deatil work on the interior never to be seen again. Many references and comparison with other planes were needed to achieve the final look.
Also some rework and detailing but the kit has a very nice shape all around. The plane represents the only civilian-use Goose in Argentina between 1947 and 1951. Worked in the Nahuel Huapi Lake on the Patagonia.
Painted using Vallejo Metal Color, Tamiya and Alclad.
Wonderful NMF. Always thought it would be cool to fly on one of these. Albeit, maybe not across the Atlantic.
Thank you! It would be cool, yes!
Excellent work. The NMF finish really is outstanding.
Thank you!
Absolutely amazing result, Martin @valkyriepm
The metal finish is fantastic.
Thank you!
Outstanding build and a great NMF finish. I spent some time admiring your photos. It looks a lot like the Squadron/Encore kit I built a few years back in the colors of Catalina Flying Boats. Perhaps the same molds?

Thank you! Yes, the Squadron kit is a rebox of the Czech Model. Wow, really like yours, I thoght it was a pic of the original!
That's really nice @chasbunch! I remember taking a trip in one over to Catalina and back one summer day in 1967. A lot of fun. Your model and photograph look like the real deal.
That's a great looking model, and as others have mentioned, the NMF looks fantastic.
Thank you!
An amazing result out of a challenging kit, Martin!
Wonderful NMF!
Congratulations!
Thank you so much!
Excellent build and finish. I'm currently working on a Czech model Goose, so I can see all the extra work and care you put into this, (plus, you've given me a few ideas!)
Congrats!
Thank you! Please let me know if you need some tips. Also, if you have resin printer, I made some 3d files for the roof panel and and ventilation of the engines.Let me know if wou want them.
Terrific model, Martin, the NMF is especially good, plus all the other details you’ve added. Wasn’t there a Gosling as well, or is my memory playing tricks on me?
Thank you! Hmmm don' recall a Gosling, but I'd love to do one.
An excellent build, nicely done. you don't see it built too often. Here's a Goose at the Cradle of Aviation Museum.

Thank you! By the serial number, the plane represented in the model was previously from Panamerican...
Interesting info.
Beautiful job, great looking Goose. The aluminum scheme and the weathering came out perfect!
Thank you!
Given that I know that kit is no walk in the park on a sunny Sunday, you have really put in some excellent work and gotten a superb result.
Thank you! Yes! Was complicated but with satisfying result 😀
Beautiful model @valkyriepm! 🤗 Your hard work certainly paid off with a fantastic result Martin!
Thank you!
Simply wonderful build and superb NMF 😊 Nice one 😊
Thank you!
Great build Martin @valkyriepm. You really did wonders with this less than perfect Czech Model. Impressive. I found this to be a difficult build although I’ve always had a soft spot for Czech Models.
I was also a Goose passenger on several back and forth flights when I used to work at a camp on Catalina Island. Fond memories of bouncing off the waves when landing.
Wha, that would be cool. About Czech Model, yeah, has very interesting subjects hard to find in other brands.
Excellent work, that is an amazing metal finish.
Lovely Goose!
