Uganda Mig17 F

This article is part of a series:
  1. Mig 17F Angola (1;48 Smer/ Airfix)
  2. Uganda Mig17 F

Another / Airifx/ Mister Craft 1:48 finished as a Ugandan F. These are old, clunky, cheap but well engineered kits and this is my third one. No filler involved at all. I did replace the arment with turned brass as the pitot tubes ( lances!) on both wings. Only the canopy really needs to be replaced but there aren't too many aftermarket options.

This colour scheme that doesn't look typical for and is based on photos I found of the aircraft in what looks like a musuem only everything is very delipadated. Decals are a combination of Berna for the bort number and Zotz Roundels of the World for the roundel as the matched better the roundel found on the museum example. There seems to be quiet a bit of variation on these.
Enjoy
Brian

  5. Great result on this clunky kit, Brian @info4
The scheme is indeed very nice.

  6. There is a Squadron vacuform MiG-15/17 canopy. No longer in production but you can find them for a reasonable price on eBay - search "Squadron 1/48 MiG-15 canopy" - the two airplanes used the same one.

Nice work turning a "clunker" into an out-of-the-ordinary model.

  7. Very nice work Brian @info4!
