A Bridge Too Far
Hello fellow modelers,
For various reasons I have not published my works here, but I will resume these contributions.
For now, here's a fabulous figure I made a few months ago: a bust of the great Sean Connor in the role of Major Roy Urquhart in the movie 'A Bridge Too Far'.
The figure is from Young Miniatures, scale 1:10, and was painted with acrylics.
Hope you like it,
M
Really nice work, it captures his looks, and the determination that was portrayed in the character in the movie. Excellent coloring and brushwork.
Thank you!
Beautiful piece of art!
Thank you ❗
Damn... Was waiting for the thing to blink! Sweet work sir...
🤣🤣 Thks!
Wow - excellent paint work!
Thks Greg! 👍
Beautiful work. I really admire you guys who can do these busts so realistically.
(PS - it's Major General Roy Urquhart - darn typos! 🙂 )
Thanks Sir! Yes, Major-general indeed, thks
Reflecting of absolutely remarkable skill/talent. Wonderful.
Many thanks for your kind words, Sir
Man, you really captured Sean Connery with this one, Manuel. Terrific.
Thank you ❗ really appreciate
Excellent paintwork, Manuel @magrus
Sean looks exactly the way as he does in the movie.
You are always very kind my friend @johnb
Well done Manuel, the detailed painting is spot on. My dad participated in The Bridge Too Far, stated they were given 3 days rations and it took old Monty a week to show up at the 101st positions. Loved the Dutch people for their support and help in feeding them. Really nice work on this.
Thanks for your kind words and short story about your father participation. Really appreciate it
Really Beautiful work!
Thank you Sir
3d Art Manuel. Lovely finish. 👍
Many thanks sir!
Superb. I admire talent such as yours. I keep trying however...
Thank you Sir. 🙏😁
Wonderful work, but he will always be 007 for me.
Indeed @chinesegeorge. 007 for ever.
But I like all of his movies and BTF is a great movie 😁
Fantastic result, my friend Manuel! Looks so real!
I Spiros @fiveten!
Hope you are well my friend.
Thank you for your kind words
Great work. Love the 5 o'clock shadow!
Thank you! Like it too, and the photo exaggerate it. It's more subtle than appears in the photographs
Fantastic work! Great movie, one of the scenes that sticks out in my mind is when Robert Redford's character is crossing that river in the collapsible boat and all the time, he's rowing he repeats "hail Mary full of grace."
'.
Thank you @roofrat!
Yes, I remember that scene too! Quite a touching moment if you imagine what they were going through...
Hello:
Hi Stephen @intruder500
Thank you for your kind words.
Regarding the beard, I did it with a very diluted mixture of flesh shadow and a bit of blue. Very very diluted as said. Almost transparent.
You build layer upon layer and blend the contour as you don't want to have a defined line.
It's a time consuming job, but worth it.
Cheers!
Nice work Nailed Connery! Loved that flick!
Steve
Thank you 👍
nice movie indeed 😁
