Academy 1/48 F-4C Vietnam
Academy's early Phantoms are very good kits and superior to the dated Hasegawa kits. In this kit I focused on the complex weathering patterns that characterized aircraft operating in the humid and dusty conditions of Vietnam. Due to the scarcity of photographs showing the lower surface of operational aircraft, I assumed that the F-4C is similar to the E model. The latter I know too well.
Amazing work, @blackmopane
I am a great admirer of the late Robin Olds, your F-4C is a real tribute to Olds and the rest of the Wolfpack.
Robin Olds was a total badass!
Yes indeed, an old-skool, fly and fight and shoot the enemy down, fighter pilot.
They wrote songs about him. 🙂
Thank you Anna
I think my colour blindness prevents me fully appreciating the camouflage and weathering, but it definitely looks like a Phantom from here.
Thank you George
That looks fantastic Rafi. You nailed the dusty weathering to perfection. That's one cool looking F-4 👍
Thank you Guy

A gorgeous Phantom - well done!
Thank you Greg!
Very nice work. Yes the Academy Phantoms are great kits, even the B still holds up well against the Tamiya kit.
Thank you Rob
It's spelled Phantastic Phantom.
Thank you Robert
IMHO you really nailed the weathering.

Excellent Rhino build, Rafi.

This is exactly how a Phantom should look like, Rafi @blackmopane
Your approach on the weathering worked very well.
Well done.
