The first phase of the 1/32 scale Harrier builds for the USMC Blacksheeps
Hi all!
Well I have completed 5 of the 6 Harrier AV8B II Plus cockpits for phase one, kit 6 just arrived so I have to go backwards and do this phase all over again so they are all on the same step.
Build has been tedious, having to do everything in batches of 5 and now 6.
Only challenge so far was the little PE HUD displays, pain in the a*s.
Created natural looking seat covers out of tissue paper for added realism.
Hope you enjoy!
Extremely envious dude! I love the Harrier, hope to build one of those 1/32 kits one day! I will watch this build very closely as it will no doubt help me build mine one day! Great experience you are going through- best wishes on the set of 6!
Dan from Bermuda.
Thanks so much Dan! It is a good kit so far x six lol. I’ll post updates often.
Agreed. I’d like to build just one. Hope the project stays fun and not too much assembly line.
Wish I was building just one lol. It’s still fun I’m just treating is as one big model 😀
@rickschad - Holy Moly! Fan-Freaking-Tastic work so far Rick.
Thank you Brian!
Great progress and FANTASTIC looks so far, Rick!
Thank you my friend! It’s quite the project 😀
Those seats look amazing, Rick @rickschad
Thank you! I was pretty happy with the seats 😀
Wow, really liking the seat cover effect and the dry-brushing and shading look amazing all around...ejection seats are fantastic! Following this, keep us posted!
Thank you! The tissue paper trick is a good one for realistic seat covers.
Great start with these seats and cockpit details, Rick. How about starting a WIP over in the groups section?
Thanks George! I will do that!
Excellent detail work! Why 6 giant Harriers at once?
Thanks John! It’s a commission to celebrate the USMC Blacksheep Squadrons 80th anniversary.
