Revell 1/32 Arado Ar 196A 3
Revell's Ar 196A is a great kit. It is highly detailed, a solid build for the most part without fiddly issues. There are only two disadvantages. The first is the lack of a beaching trolley. The chunky stand provided takes the glamor off the model. The second is the wing fold mechanism. A common problem in large kits with angular wind fold positions is the momentum weight of the wings that strains the plastic joints and challenges the builder.
Looks great. Like your weathering. One of my favorite airplanes. Mine is waiting in the stash along with the B-version. I intend a conversion to the V-1 prototype.
There is or at least has been a trolley in 1:32 by czech MASTER-X (MS 3202)
Thank you Hans.
By the time that I built this kit I was no longer interested in the aftermarket goodies.
Really beautiful job. I've always wanted to pick this kit up. I always here what a nice kit it is. Yours turned out great.
Thank you Clint.
Awesome result, Rafi! Excellent job on securing these heavy wings. Pity Revell does not provide a beaching trolley, a must for every seaplane / flying boat model.
Thank you Spiros!
Excellent build, Rafi. I really like everything about it. Congratulations
Thank you Marvin.
Another excellent build, Rafi @blackmopane
What not to like about this Arado, superb all over.
Thank you John.
Nice work on this, Rafi. I solved the wing problem by extending them. Perhaps not as interesting, but you know what they say about "living in 'interesting' times." 🙂
Thank you Tom.
Big models with folded wings are golden.
Looks great, Rafi.
Thank you John.
Well done, Rafi! Like the "business" of the build...
Thank you Gary.
Excellent build, looks great!
Thank you Chas!
Very nice Arado. Folded wings make it even better.
Thank you Jarmo.
Great looking build. The finish & weathering is perfect in my humble opinion. The folded wings add so much interest!
Thank you DJ!
Looks great! I'm a big fan of the 196. Great paintwork on this.
Thank you Greg!
