Revell A-7 Corsair II 1/72 scale
Built several years ago, this is my first airplane build. The way it is presented here is the "revised" version. Originally, I had placed the national insignia upside down, meaning that the pointed star was not facing upwards or forwards.
Whoops! A rookie mistake, no less. What do I know? I was able to remove the offending decals (which were only on the forward fuselage and not on the wings) with Scotch clear tape and were replaced with national insignia decals sourced from the Academy T-6G Texan kit. The rest of the decals that were used are from a sheet made by Esci. I painted the model with #1929 Model Master gloss gull gray and white and gave it the dirty look using dust brushed on from a charcoal stick. A coat of dullcote sealed everything in. Here's to more military builds in my future! Cheers.
P. S. - as a side note during the build process, I was able to glue some BB's into the nose so I wouldn't wind up with a tail-sitter.
JT...For your first aircraft model...a good build & finish. Stick with it. And keep it FUN.
Thank you. This is a great hobby to stick with.
Looks great, and a good save on that “beginner’s” error.
I'm looking forward to building more planes, while "embracing" my mistakes and learning from them. Thanks.
No kidding! For your first aircraft model, you showed your pro side. Terrific. Keep’em coming, John @jdtruby).
Thanks Eric, for the very heartfelt comments.
Nice work.It was done on the real ones too

Thanks Robert, I'm glad I'm not the only one who's ever done that!
Fantastic result, John!
What a lovely A-7!
Thanks Spiros, for the nice comment.
Very nice build and good save, John @jdtruby
A great result on your first aircraft.
Thank you, John for your support.
Well done, John (@jdtruby). This Revell kit is not one of their best, but you have really made it shine. I usually don't find my mistakes until I post the photos, and then I give myself the forehead slap and go back and fix it.
Thanks George, for your nice comment.
Keep them coming!
Thanks Greg, like yourself, 1/72 is my "go to" scale.
That's a nice looking Corsair, great work. Never fret the mistakes, we All make them! It's how we learn. Just keep having fun. 😉
Yep, you are so right.
