Scania LB 141
This is the model kit I got from Martin, the editor of Imodeler. It's been mix feelings with this Heller kit. But seeing that it was a very old kit and compromises were taken into account, I now learn my way around such discrepancies in this kit. All-in-all, it was an ‘OK' build, despite my frustrations. Barlas Pehlivan, was also kind to help answer some of my annoying questions, concerning this kit. So kudos to him.
My apologies for the pics. I will take better ones later. It was very windy outside today and I could not get the right photos I wanted. Oh well, you can't win every time. ? Hope you enjoy the photos regardless.
I also added some wip photos o the interior, as it was difficult to get good shots of the interior after the roof and doors were install.

Just wow ? I remember seeing a lot of this truck on the roads, back in the 80s/90s and some had this precise worn out look...that trailer hook is so amazingly realistic that I almost smelled the scent of grease

You have such an eye for placement of weathering, shipping, etc. that it just comes off so realistic. I'm an "airplane-only" builder, but I always look forward to your builds. In fact, I saw an old truck stationed in front of some oil tanks yesterday taking my son to school, and I thought - "man, that would be the perfect Charles King project!" One of these days I'm going to stop and take a pic of it to taunt you into doing it!

It works...the Red,White and Blue are worn,torn and used.
The tractor reminds of my club...the Saggy,Baggy,White and Pasty Club. Only the seats that I am used to seeing are thinning and frayed from someones large behind. Not to mention they look like bowling balls that have been pressed into them from repeated use and abuse.
Ironic that a old kit is made to look old and yet it looks very contemporary. Of course if the 80's and 90's it seems like yesterday according to this friend I know. 😉

Charles, I can't believe you put some magazines and oranges into the cockpit...awesome details, I can only repeat myself, I love your builds! When I was younger I hitchhike a lot and usually had a ride with way similar trucks on our eastern-european roads...nice memories, thanks!

Charles: a "good story" is an accumulation of small but telling details. This model is a very good story indeed. It's so thoroughly "lived in" that I am sure one can smell the residue of a lifetime of cigar smoke inside the cab. If you photographed it with anything like a realistic background it would be hard to say it isn't "real." Beautiful work. Inspirational.
