264 Squadron Boulton-Paul Defiant in 1/48 (Battle of Britain day scheme)
Hi all,
This is my lash up of the relatively new tool Airfix quarter scale Defiant.
Tried a heavy post-shade then comprehensive highlighting coat technique with freehand camo.
All feedback welcome as ever! 🙂

Nice build and presentation, Justin...I like it. 🙂
Thank you Craig, really pleased you do! 🙂
Good looking builds!
Thanks Dale!
awesome
Cheers Bob!
Great bird. I had no idea these existed so I appreciate being introduced to it through your post.
Thanks Matt! Yes the Defiant remains very obscure but it’s a fascinating design, concept and history ?
Nice work on all three of those models. Excellent paint work.
One very minor point (which has only become known very recently with some new research associated with the release of the new Tamiya Spitfire) is that the IFF antennas (and transponder) didn't start to show up till mid November, after the BoB (You coulda fooled me till the info was published in the new Fundekals Spitfire sheet).
Thanks Tom - yes, I left the IFF wires off the Defiant for that reason but had mistakenly added them to my Spit as you’ve clearly spotted... ?
Looks very nice, lovely finish.
Thank you Michael, I much appreciate the kind words!
Great work Justin!
Thanks David! ?
Very nice job with the camo. I cheated and used AML masks on mine
Thanks George! I assure you it wasn’t achieved without great suffering and many touch ups ?
Very nice Defiant. The paint job looks great!
Thanks Greg!
🙂 … Greetings … 🙂 :
Very nice work on that Defiant Justin, very clean and sharp. The painting is well applied.
Very kind of you - thank you!
