Tamiya 1:48 Scale, P-47D-27 Ra, "Thunderbolt"
Typical Tamiya build...Loved it from end to end, (Except the decals,...YUK)
Kit was a pleasure to build, and I am currently working on another, as well as a Razorback version.
Markings are those of a P-47 flown by Capt. Edward Curry Powell, 510th Fighter Squadron, 405th Fighter Group, France, late 1944.
You have built up a killer looking jug !

Thanks, Lou. It’s one of the best kits out there!
Nice lookin' Jug...real nice!
🙂 … Greetings … 🙂 :
I always did like the sight and posture of a P-47 and this one Frederick is surely no different.
Very good modeling and a very nice sheen to it.
Frederick, this Jug is beautiful, solid built and painted as usual in all your models. What’s with the decals? Don’t think those are OOB, are they?
I’ve never liked Tamiya Decals. Too thick. However I did use the D-Day stripes they provided. Decals I used were Eaglecals
Great looking Jug, Frederick. Excellent natural metal finish.
Well done, Frederick.
very nicely done
Looks good dude! What did you use for your metallic finish?
Hey Ramon,
I used Alclad II, over their glossy Black undercoat. I love Alclad, just use a mask!
looks awesome, thanks!
An excellent Thunder craft!
Very sharp looking Jug!
A great-looking Jug! Well done.
Another Freddie masterpiece!
Frederick, you really are one of my favourite builders. There’s a ‘genuine’ element to your models; an elusive ‘solid’ presence that feels very satisfying to look at - hard to define but I know what I mean.
Anyway, I ‘liked’ this. Lovely Jug.
Thank you, David! Your kind words are much appreciated, Sir.
Great lookin' Jug, Fred!
