1/48 Classic Airframes Brewster 239
This aircraft was piloted by ltm. Ilmari Juutilainen 3/Lentolaivue 24, Suualajarvi airfield November 1942. Juutilainen was the top scoring Finnish ace with 94 victories, 28 while flying B-239's. Aftermarket parts include a Vector engine and Eduard seatbelts. Paints are the Lifecolor set for WWII Finnish aircraft. These paints were produced in conjunction with the Finnish Air Force museum and are very accurate. If you're into acrylic paints I highly recommend them.
Very nice work, Dale...I like it.
Thanks Craig.
love the buffalo dale and this scheme looks like a million bucks…the Finns were so bad asp under Mannerheim he was quite an impressive human being…94 victories…fine work
Your comments are much appreciated Bob and yes the Finns were very competent fighters.
A real beauty, and no mistake, Dale. Very fine work all around.
Thanks very much David!
Superb work and result as usual.
Thanks Tom and your posts are always interesting and informative.
Always had a soft spot for the Bufallo. Lovely modeling skills, Dale.

Thanks for your positive comments. This portly aircraft has always been attractive to me also.
Well done! I have to look for the Lifecolor set for some future projects - looking good Dale. I like the antenna with its insulators and spring. What is your preferred method for making these insulators?
Thanks you Erik! I used white glue to simulate insulators.
Outstanding work Dale
Your comments are appreciated!
Excellent work!
Thanks very much Robert!
VERY well done, Dale!
Glad you like the B-239 Jeff.
Top result
Thanks you Haslam!
Nicely done Dale, I like it a lot.
Thanks Tom, glad you like it!
I just noticed this article ... it somehow slipped under the radar. Your Buffalo is a fantastic looking build, up to your usual high standards. I have a similar version of this kit in the stash. It's the US Navy F2A-1 version with marking from the Saratoga.
How did it build ? Any tips or tricks, or things to watch out for ? These Brewster's are cool little planes .
Well done, and "liked".
Thanks Louis. I found this kit one of the easier limited run builds , with no real problems. Try it I think you'll like it.
Looks great! Paint and finish work is really nice. Well done.
Thanks very much Greg!
Beautifully done, I love the finish. My favorite scheme for the Buffalo.
