Takom 1:72 M1070 w/M1000 w/D9R Bulldozer
This is nice little kit. The first of three components. It has a high part count for this scale but the payoff is very good detail. This is OOB with the exception of adding cables to the wenches. I painted it with modulated AK OEF & OIF US Vehicles Base Color and Vallejo Iraqi Sand. I also weathered with Vallejo engine oil and grease effects. The sandy weathering is Tamiya Buff paint and MIG Sand pigment. Various other weathering especially on the undercarriage were done with Derwent InkTense pencils. They are very similar to watercolor pencils but the color is more resilient when dry. Looking forward to the other 2 pieces.
Looks like you're off to a great start...nice work - can't wait to see the rest. 🙂
🙂 … Greetings … 🙂 :
Being majorly a OOB model, this looks very nice and crisp, You did a way too good work on the weathering. The weathering on the tires alone are a show in itself. Nice work Dennis as well as photography.
Excelent! Sometimes I had to remind myself that I was looking to a model and not a real truk. Congratulations!
This is a great Hauler. I can't wait to see more!
An excellent job, a pleasure to view!
A great-looking build!
Amazing that this is 1/72. Your painting and weathering is superb.
That's some nice looking rust there, Dennis!
Impressive build; I look forward to seeing the rest of the completed model. Arguably, more impressive is the fact that my grand-daughter is a wheeled-vehicle mechanic in the US Army. She recently transferred to the National Training Center, located at Fort Irwin CA, where, you guessed it, she is responsible for maintaining the M1070. As part of her duties, she has to drive these beasts... Grandpa's little girl is all grown-up now. Of course, I had no knowledge of these beasts until she told me about them.
Congratulations on a great build.
Thanks Marvin. Give my thanks to your granddaughter. Having spent a wee bit of time in a motor pool back in the day, I know taking care of something like this is quite a feat.
A real nice build!
So far so good. Very good infact!
