HK’s new 1/48 Lancaster
The scale-down of the excellent H-K 1/32 Lancaster to 1/48 ships next month.
MSRP US$107.00 - the 45-year old Tamiya Lancaster lists for $130.00 according to the Tamiya America website.
For those who may be interested, Kits World Decals has a large number of various Lancasters, all with nice nose art. Sprue Brothers has all in stock as of my order of "Pistol Packin' Mama" just now, but you might want to not waste time getting one if you're interested. When the B-17F came out, all the KW B-17F decals disappeared from stock in about three days.
One other thought: you won't have to spend $40 on the Belcher Bits corrected engine nacelles to replace the horrid ones in the Tamiya kit.

Excellent. I have a Tamiya lanc and was hoping HK would do this.

Even scaled down to 1/48 it will be a big Lancaster.
Oh yeah, but trust me, you won't have to put an addition on your house to display it, unlike the 1/32 kit. I have one that I pull out and look at occasionally and tell myself, "after you move to Newport and retire."
Could always just build the nose (HK's 1/32 Lanc nose kit)? I'm tempted.
It'll be beautiful. I'd almost want one, but the same reason my Tamiya kit sits in the box. No where to put it.
Big bird. Display space ..always an issue.
There's a simple solution to displaying models like this. I wrap a wire around the fuselage just ahead of the tail, then make a loop. Drive a nail in the wall and hang it there. You can see a lot more of it that way.

I was wondering how to find the Center of gravity to hang models from the ceiling. I tried that on my FW-200 bit it hopelessly dips one way or the other.
I tough of embedding an eye screw during construction in the Center Of the fuselage but not sure that would work . Do you have any ideas on that ?
I was lucky to see a Lancaster in flight as a spitfire roared and gyrated around it.

@bernardbedeur - my inability to do anything to get a model to hang right from the ceiling is why I decided to turn them into wall hangings.
There goes my “No more big kits!” rule...At least for this one.
