Roland D.VIa, Jasta 23b, Epinoy, France, 1918
Hi, this is my latest completed model from the WnW range. The kit is a pleasure to build and is a really attractive subject for a model kit. The colour scheme was achieved by using enamel and oil paints, and lozenge pattern markings from Aviattic and turnbuckles from GasPatch.
All in all, this was an almost four week build; there's a video now available on YouTube which can be accessed here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNFRrPzXTfw. The kit also features in the 'Imperial German...' GB, where there are other photos included as well, here - https://imodeler.com/groups/imperial-german-air-service-luftwaffe-group-build-may-1st-1910-to-present-day/forum/topic/wingnut-wings-roland-d-via/.
I hope you like the end result, and thanks for looking in... ;-).
Regards,
Paul
A truly superb result, Paul!
Congratulations!
Thanks again, Spiros... ;-).
An amazing result, Paul @paulh
So much detail and excellent paint work.
Also the rigging with the turnbuckles is perfectly done.
Thank you John, I'm pleased you like the end result and that you like the rigging. As you can imagine, it can be tricky but worthwhile nonetheless... :-).
Really great result with this kit, @paulh. I think it's one of WNW best kits.
I did one, too.

Thanks, Tom, for your comments. I did see your build on the internet several times when I was doing some research and it certainly looks very smart in the black colour scheme. It is certainly a great kit to build... ;-).
WnW kits are certainly top of the line and your build took it even higher. Well done, Paul!
Thanks very much, Gary... :-).
Great job! Love the natural wood finish.
Robert, thank you... the wood effect came out well, and I'm pleased you like the end result... ;-).
Nicely finished model. I have only made one wnw kit , they are very detailed kits. Great build.
Mark, yes WNW kits are certainly well-engineered and detailed models. What one did you build? Thanks for your comments as well... ;-).
Beautiful work!
Thanks, Greg... ;-).
Beautiful plane and work Paul.
Bernard, thanks very much... ;-).
Looks great, such a complicated colour scheme, and the rigging is so very well detailed.
Thank you, George... glad you like the build ;-).
