My favorite Monogram model, the 1/48 P-51B
Growing up, the 1/48 Monogram P-51B was my favorite model kit ( their P-47's are a close second). Here are a few I've done over the years.
First up, P-51B, S/Ldr Eugeniusz „Dziubek“ Horbaczewski, No. 315 (Polish) Squadron. Decals from MSAP.
Second, “Tommy's Dad” P-51B-7-NA Major John C. Herbst 74 FS 23 FG. I handpainted the name on the cowl, the rest are from various decal sheets in the stash.
Finally, “Ding Hao”, James Howard 354th FG. Decals are from Superscale.
Those all look great ! The TBD, P-39,P- 47 and F9F are my favorite Monogram kits, I like most all of them though.
I'm always partial to the F9F-5 and F-86D.
Very nice builds, Brian @bzak
You really must have a steady hand to be able to write text on a 1/48 build.
Well done.
My compliments Brian! Those old Monogram kits can be built into a very attractive model. Yours are excellent!
All are fantastic, Brian!
Nice collection! I remember with fondness the Monogram P-51B I build as a grade-schooler!
A great collection Brian - thanks for sharing!
Very nice, great looking builds. Ding Ho! was the original decal subject for this kit.
