Academy 1/48 Spitfire XIVc and Bubble Canopy
An old Academy mold kit that became synonym with KMC resin set to correct the shape of the nose, rudder and spinner.
Two kits are presented here. Yet, I had only one KMC set. The Bubble Canopy PR Griffon Spitfire was scratch made using KMCs set as a master to obtain the correct dimensions. These models were built years ago before the much better Airfix kit came out.
Both are excellent built and look awesome, each one in its own manner, Rafi!
Thank you Spiros!
Both are equally beautiful, Rafi @blackmopane
How did you get that antenna on the rear curved this nicely, is that made of stretched sprue?
Thank you John.
The stretched sprue is easily bent permanently if squiezed and pulled (gently) between the fingers.
Nice! Love those clipped wings and Griffons...
Thank you Gary.
Great looking Spits! Superb work as always.
Thank you Greg!
Well done - love those Griffon spits!
Thank you Chas!
Nice work on these, Rafi. Hopefully Airfix brings us a high back XIV soon.
Thank you John.
