iModeler Awards – February

March 14, 2016 · in Uncategorized · · 28 · 2K

It's high time for another monthly iModeler retrospective - this time looking back at our February contributions. 90 new headline articles were posted during the month, prompting 1128 readers' comments.

It is our ambition to ensure that the iModeler prizes are awarded in an unbiased and knowledgeable manner, through a process where every contribution is noted. This month's jury was @editor, @magnusf and @halvarvonflake.

New and would-be members of iModeler please note: Every month, all articles posted among the Headlines are included in our traditional honorary prize draw. We're awarding the Best in Show title to the entry that in the eyes of the jury represents the month's highlight in terms of modeling quality and presentation. In additional to this, we allot a second award to a randomly chosen article. We think that all contributions to this site deserve recognition, so this second prize is a token of appreciation to all authors and all levels of modeling experience that can be encountered here at iModeler.

iModeler Best in Show - February 2016

The jury's choice this month is Rob Pollock's 1924 Fiat Mefistofele. Rob went a long way in improving the Italeri (ex-Protar) kit to a very high standard. The builder's attention to detail is visible througout the model, for example the marvellous woodwork and the leather of the seat to name just two examples. Very well done indeed.

But wait, there's more! - the Random Award

Every month we are also awarding a kit prize as a token of appreciation to all our contributors. This is selected through an entirely random draw among the entries of the month. This distinction goes to Michal Walusz for his 1/48 Revell Messerschmitt Me-410B-2/R-2. Thanks for sharing all those wonderful builds at iModeler!

  16. Congratulations to Rob and all. Well done. There are so many things to love about that huge monster racer. First, it´s a FIAT! Second, just look at that bicycle chain and sprocket! Third, the green ignition wires, ahh... Fourth, the huge exhaust pipe wrapped in rope. Fifth, the tiny excuse of a windscreen. Etc, etc...

  18. Very nice Rob, looks fantastic, like the "asbestos wrapping" on the exhaust. Clearly long before WHS laws! Congrats!
