69 years of age, Modeling since birth. Do planes, armor, or whatever hits my fancy. World War 2 is main interest but will stray back in time, rarely forward. Competition shooting, collecting Military rifles and reading History occupy the non-modeling time. I was a mechanic by trade, now retired and loving it. Married 42 years to a lovely long-suffering woman and have one 36 year old kid, who builds better models than me and also appears on these pages on occasion.
J2M3 Raiden, Hasegawa's new 1/32 effort, done last year. A marvelous kit, a real box-shaker. Built OOB, spent more time on the cockpit "good luck doll' than the paint job. Looking forward muchly to Hasegawa's upcoming NIK2 Shiden [...]
I always have been interested in the North African campaigns, WW2. The vehicles involved just hit me, and the way they get covered in their environment makes fun modeling. A tank I've always wanted in kit form came out last year. As weird [...]
For something different, I built this Classic Airframes 1/48 Cuban Hawk. A true representative of 1930's color. This airplane had an interesting history, being flown by an American acrobatic pilot in the employ of the Cuban Airforce. It [...]
of all time...so far. I never said it had to be one of my best models, just a favorite. The P-40 happens to be my favorite airplane so it's appropriate. It is the first model since my return to the hobby I considered "pretty [...]
Hasegawa P-40M. 1/48 scale. I think this is one of the meaner looking mouths. 112 Squadron, Italy 1943.Resin seat and wheels added. Pilot from old Tamiya Buffalo kit.
Hasegawa's 1/32 P-40E, done up as Colonel Robert Scott's first mount in the CBI theatre. She's pretty much Out of the box except for etched seat harnesses and elastic brake lines. I had to remove the excess windshield frame on the left [...]
I had built the 1/48 Isuzu petrol truck with the Ki-45 Kawasaki "Nick" it came with, and thought it would work well with the Shoki too. So I set up this quick scene using a generic base, a couple of drums and a bicycle from an [...]
What you've all been waiting for with baited breath. Fourth fave is the William's Brothers Curtiss F9C Sparrowhawk. I just like to go back and look at this colorful, clean unique machine. For a kit it's age and type it did not go together [...]
Tuskegee P-51B flown by Major Charles McGee, veteran of 3 wars. Tamiya 1/48 kit, Warbird decals. Alclad finish. Poor pictures. Sorry, all I have right now.
My contribution to 109 mania, Hasegawa's 1/32 109G-6 Cannonenboot. Built right out of the box for some online thing a while ago. A nice easy-build kit indeed. Flown by a pilot Saurer or something like that, killed going after B-17's at [...]
