I have been building models for 47 of the last 53 years, and I build everything. Literally. I currently reside in New Westminster, BC, Canada, which is a suburb of Vancouver, and am an active member of IPMS Vancouver. I am a mostly OOB builder, but on occasion will venture into the murky realms of AMS. I am trending lately into sci-fi and fantasy, with a lot of time spent working on vinyl monsters and large figures from gaming systems, specifically dragons. I feel that there is a sad lack of dragons in this world. I am still building the usual stuff, but not two or three or more of the same thing. Just one, maybe two, and strictly OOB for in club build contests.
This kit was given to me to re-build as I saw fit and finish better than the owner felt he was capable. I think it came out fairly well, considering it only took three weeks. I removed all of the road wheels and tracks to facilitate [...]
Swap meet discovery and built OOB. Finished with MM Enamel Panzer Grey '39-'43. Weathered with AK Interactive washes and Tamiya Weathering system. A fun exercise in grey and rust. Very long, and awkward to display and transport.
The first three pictures are of the Tamiya 1/72 P-51D with Canadian markings, the next three are the old Monogram 1/72 P-51B with Australian markings, and lastly is the Pegasus 1/48 snap-fit kit, also with Aussie markings. The Tamiya kit [...]
Here is another Italian fighter for your viewing pleasure. This one was also built strictly OOB. Sand and Spinach camo free hand airbrushed using MM Enamels, and minimal weathering using chalk pastels and the Tamiya weathering System. [...]
Another of my "creepy, weird, some-what disturbing" figure kit builds. This is NOT based on the silly Tim Burton movie, but on the gruesome Topps trading cards from the late '60's. This thing was a hoot to work on. It's not [...]
Another solo armor build for the year, in this case 2013, is this tiny little AA tracked vehicle. Individual link tracks, minuscule photo-etch and a complete interior that is mostly obscured by the 20mm gun and mounting made for a trying, [...]
Continuing my catch-up posts, this is the Hasagawa 1/48 scale Ki-44 "Tojo" built OOB. Finish is various shades of Alclad II aluminum over a Model Master Enamel Gloss Black base coat. Decals are as provided in the box. Gentle [...]
I have been remiss over the last few years, and not posted anything I have been building. I will now try to play catch-up. This is the Tamiya boxing of the very good Italeri Macchi 200 in 1/48 scale. Strictly OOB with free-hand [...]
I really do build everything, don't I. This was worked on at the same time as the previously posted resin MiG-31 Firefox. Vinyl kits are my way of kinda going Oommm... Quick build, fun to paint, just...cool. This one is a few layers of [...]
Classic Monogram kit with new decals by Canuckmodels.com. All I did to the kit was remove every single panel line and try to get the surface as smooth as I could. The decals were applied over a custom blend of Tamiya red and orange and [...]
