I have been building models for 47 of the last 53 years, and I build everything. Literally. I currently reside in New Westminster, BC, Canada, which is a suburb of Vancouver, and am an active member of IPMS Vancouver. I am a mostly OOB builder, but on occasion will venture into the murky realms of AMS. I am trending lately into sci-fi and fantasy, with a lot of time spent working on vinyl monsters and large figures from gaming systems, specifically dragons. I feel that there is a sad lack of dragons in this world. I am still building the usual stuff, but not two or three or more of the same thing. Just one, maybe two, and strictly OOB for in club build contests.
I started this kit in early February with an April 15th deadline. I succeeded, but only just. It is completely Out-Of-the-Box, with only tape seatbelts added. The colours are all Testors Model Master Enamels. I finished the kit with a [...]
I started this kit by heating and trimming all of the over pours of vinyl, then filling the legs with pre-mixed drywall plaster for weight. The parts all fit very well, with a judicious application of a hot hair dryer and a mix of thin [...]
This is an old Inteleg Vinyl model from the early ‘90s, of H.P. Lovecraft’s most popular baddie, the Great Old One, Cthulhu. I have had this model for nearly 15 years, and finally decided to tackle it. The skinny legs made adding [...]
This is my totally out of the box build of the kit I won at the 2013 Oregon Historical Modellers Show at McMinnville. The markings I chose of the 7 included are for NAP1/c Tsuguo Matsuyama, of Air Superiority Command, 2nd Strike Unit, [...]
And here is my figure build for today's up-load. This is the Pegasus vinyl Vermithrax Perjorative dragon from the 1982 movie, 'Dargonslayer'. The kit included the little Galen Brad-Warden figure with his lance and dragon scale shield, as [...]
That title is quite a mouthful for such a delicate little thing. Another OOB build. 96 pieces just for each of the tracks, but they were articulated when I was finished. Full interior with driver figure, too! Finish is MM '39-'43 [...]
This is an other OOB build for an in club contest from a few years ago. Finish is overall aluminum with minimal weathering. Fun build, and fairly quick, too. All of the decal stencils were in blocks, and weren't too much of a challenge. [...]
Another OOB kit for an in club build contest. Since this is a curb side kit, I didn't have to mess around with an engine or engine bay. There was some paint detailing on the underside, then the interior was finished up in greys and [...]
This is one of the fabulous kits that are created by fitchenfoo, and produced by industriamechanika.com.
This is Doktor Orpheus Odonata’s “Dragonfly” Odonopter Type One. The kit itself consists of 40 beautifully cast grey resin [...]
I built this just cause I could. Finish is Commercial Aluminum overall, with MM enamel IJN Green and Brown for topside colours. The chipping is a fortuitous accident from removal of the masking tape. Kit is OOB with the exception of [...]
