I started building when I was in the fifth grade and continued through college. After that life got in the way, but I never lost the desire to build again and about 1998 I started building again. I build almost exclusively 1/48th scale aircraft and armor from WWII (especially german), because of their fun and varied camouflage schemes. Posting to this sight has been fun, and a great way to get new ideas from the feed back I receive and also seeing what others are doing.
Well my first completion of the new year, and one that I have been working on for a longer period of time than I would like to admit. I did a build blog in the Aircraft work in progress (link) . I could have just as easily done it in the [...]
Along with my Bf-109E-3/4 I built a Citroen to go along with it. This was a nice fun little kit, I missed a few things in the build the biggest is I missed some of the very fine seam lines until I painted it. I was amazed at how small [...]
I am in the middle of building an old Monogram 1/48 B-17 and got frustrated by some paint issues. I decided to take a break, and do a quick uncomplicated build. I have an old Cutting Edge Bf 109E sheet (CED48189). There was one bird in [...]
I as a rule never build Japanese aircraft. Not because of any bias, but just because most of their subject matter doesn't interest me all that much. I built this though to have something to enter into the local Dragon Show. A show put [...]
When I got back into modeling, I had been out for a long time and was amazed at what detail could be attained with resin. So of course I took a very good model the Tamiya He-219 Owl, and try and make it better. I used the Aires resin [...]
I built this when I just wanted a relatively easy and uncomplicated build. Of course that didn't mean I couldn't improve the kit by using some resin enhancements. I used True Details Cockpit also the True Details Wheels set. Both [...]
I build a lot of Luftwaffe aircraft and the He -111 was a mainstay of the German bomber arsenal prior to and through out the war. I really like its lines, and while not as grand as the Condor, or as versatile the Ju-88 it proved to be a [...]
This was my second attempt at the AC-47. The Spooky was so incredible I built one back in the 1980's. This one 20 plus years later had the help of a resin kit for the guns and gun sight. I re-scribed all the panel lines and made the [...]
This is an older build, that is totally out of the box. I know the flaws of the kit but all that aside I remember it as a generally satisfactory build and there is no mistaking what it is. The fit was generally good, and overall went [...]
Well this may be a record or at least a par year for me. Its not even June and I have finished my second kit. Okay I cheated, and this was one of my business travel hotel builds that I put together when traveling for business. Still I [...]
