I started building when I was in the fifth grade and continued through college. After that life got in the way, but I never lost the desire to build again and about 1998 I started building again. I build almost exclusively 1/48th scale aircraft and armor from WWII (especially german), because of their fun and varied camouflage schemes. Posting to this sight has been fun, and a great way to get new ideas from the feed back I receive and also seeing what others are doing.
As a follow up to my Do-335 I built another one of these model kits. This time I thought I would do it up as a defender of the Reich in the last days of the war.
I added drop tanks and also scratch built the boarding ladder. I [...]
As winter turns into spring (sort of) here in Washington, it is time for our Stearman's annual inspection. Good thing that way we know it will be safe for a sunny season of flying. Since all the access panels are removed I thought I [...]
Inspired by Erich's excellent rendition I thought I would add my own version of this "hypothetical" aircraft. It will have some of you seeing doubles, but I think its cool. I have always enjoyed seeing how two different [...]
There is an old adage that if you spend the time to build an old difficult kit then a mainstream model company will release a new state of the art version of the kit soon after. Now, I am not going to say it’s true, but I’m not going [...]
As kid I loved the line of Monogram 1/48th scale aircraft models. Their bomber series let you build highly detailed good looking models that represented the planes that won the war in Europe and the Pacific. I always liked the B-25 G [...]
This is my P-47 that was built out of the box except for the decals which are from the Wolf Pack series by Aeromaster. I have always loved the P-47 and when I was a kid I built at least a half dozen of the Monogram kits and painted them [...]
I have posted this elsewhere previously but in the spirit of 109 madness occuring on this site I thought I would post here. This is again the wonderful and enjoyable Tamiya kit. The markings are purely fictional, I just really liked the [...]
After seeing the video of the restored Mosquito, KA114 posted by the editor, I thought I would post my Mosquito build here. I don't build much British, but I do love the Mosquito and think that it is one of the best looking aircraft ever [...]
I enjoy building WWII Luftwaffe night fighters. When I saw this kit I jumped at it. I loved the idea of the flying wing night fighter with Hs298 air-to-air missles.
This was my second Dragon kit and it followed the same build pattern [...]
I broke one of my own rules and bought this kit a short while (probably 6-8 months) back when Squadron ran a great deal on it. I had always liked the vehicle regardless of its impracticality and the real lack of need for it by the time it [...]
