Into all things 1/48 WW1 and WW2. Aircraft, dios, armour etc. favourite topics are, Luftwaffe, RAAF , Dutch airforce, BoB, and anything that flies from around 1914-1946 essentially. ๐
Recently started WW1 subjects. All of 2021. Can't see myself doing anything else for a while, unless more WW2 British bombers get released. Keeping an eye on that Beaufort release. LOL. 2023 now and I'm now getting into some 1/48 afv. And that Beaufort was one of my favourite builds of 2022.
Hello all. Been a long time away from the production line, but I'm back at last.
Just completed. My 1/48 Special Hobby CAC Ca-9 Wirraway from No.7 flight training school 1943. My pitop tube broke off and was never seen again... I will [...]
Finally completed. Ilyushin Il-4 A3 10th guard long range bomber squadron 1 regiment. 1944 Xuntong kit. Tough build. Glad its over but love the result. ?
Hope you like.
This is the Gavia 1/48 Westland Lysander. I hated it. Nothing fitted well, the wings to canopy fit was very hard and decals unusable. I used spares. Even photographing it was a nightmare. A random gust of wind blew it over. I lost a [...]
. See info taken from Point Cook website. Word is, we kinda took it ourselves, after being over run by the Japanese up in the Philipines or like. Open to opinion. So awesome. I'm hoping we nicked it. ๐ โ
It's an old kit, but it goes [...]
Happy new year all. Hope we all have a safe and happy 2017... Just completed, 1/48 Eduard Yak-3 flown by Pilot: Maj Gen G.N. Zakharov, 303 IAP April 1944.
Nice build, easy to make. Some say, due to black and photos only, the red/yellow [...]
Lockheed Hudson 459 Squadron RAAF Western Desert of Libya, 1944. Part of my growing tribute to my homeland RAAF.
For a limited run kit this was pure fun and enjoyment. Fit was very good, once you got past the sanding and test fitting.
If [...]
Shot down during the Battle of Britian, it was actually assigned to a bomber unit. KG55. Interesting history of a fighter operating in a bomber unit, and still getting shot down over England. Some references say it was an "E" [...]
Flown by Ft Lt John Bailey.
I had all kinds of issues deciding what colours would be applicable. Same old story, ask 100 historians and get 110 different answers. I settled on Olive drab over a local mixture of dark green/foilage which [...]
Sometimes it's nice to do an easy build, so decided on this P-51. Haven't done one in a few years, but choosing a colour scheme is so hard. Too many good ones. Settled on this...
Maj Richard Hewitt's Big Dick. ๐ P-51D-25-NA 87th Fighter [...]
This is a joint effort. My oldest son started this a few years ago in a model club I ran at our primary school. I cleaned the parts he started up, finished the rest of the build and painted it etc.
He's happy with the colours I picked. [...]
