So to add another Crusader to the mix. This one is using the Kendall wing fold set and cockpit upgrade set. The only thing I didn't do was adjust the incorrect stance of the main gear. I configured this for a ground attack mission. My [...]
Inspired by the last few posts, here is my Monogram 1/48 scale F-8 Crusader. I used the Cobra Company landing gear set and resin ejection seat, some foil from a wine bottle to make a simple seatbelt harness and I used stock decals that [...]
I bult this model some time ago, but it is still one of my favorites. The panel lines are pencil and the kit is built basically out of the box. Lots of decal work and some light weathering. The seat is resin.
The Vought F-8 Crusader has always been a favorite of mine. It has to me some of the same classic look as the Hawker Hunter does. And it was one of the greatest Navy fighters ever, a fitting jet descendant of the famous Vought F4U Corsair. [...]
This Crusader is of "Double Nuts" flown by CAG of CVW-5 aboard USS Hancock (CVA-19) in 1966.

Here's my attempt at backdating the 1/48 Monogram F-8E Crusader into a DF-8A drone controller/utility aircraft from the Naval Missile Center at Point Mugu, California during the late '60's-early '70's. I started this project ten years ago, [...]
Hi all, it has been quite a while since I last posted.
I hope you enjoy my F-8H conversion of the Monogram 1/48 F-8E. I used pictures I took of a Crusader at the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, FL. The earlier models of Crusader had a [...]
