1/48 Special Hobby CA-12 Boomerang
RAAF No.4 Squadron, New Guinea, 1943. This kit in my opinion has the best OOB cockpit of any Special Hobby I ever built. I still did a little more detail in the way of wiring and a throttle quadrant I fabricated. I also added more detail to the wheel well and landing gear and substituted a Vector engine for the kit one.
This is a stunning kit and you really did a great job on this kit. The added details always add to the realism factor. Your model looks very authentic! Well done!
Thanks very much Morne!
Beautifully done! I have one in my stash, and you make me want to drag it out. Can you tell me what brand and color you used for the paint, it looks spot on.
congratulations!
Colin
Thanks Colin. I used Pollyscale mixed to what looked right to me for the upper colors and Lifecolor RAAF lt. blue for the bottom. The old Kiwi kit has excellent instructions, which I unfortunately no longer have a copy, that covers details and painting of the Boomerang. Get a copy if you can.
That's a beautiful Boomerang! Love the detail and weathering work.
Thanks for your positive comments!
A great job!
Thanks much Robert!
Dale, Its a homely little dude as an airplane, but you sure did a nice job making it into a very nice looking and interesting model. Well done !
