iModeler January Awards
Once again it is time for our monthly retrospective - a look back at some of the notable articles posted at this site during January. This was a month, our community added another 203 new articles to iModeler, prompting an impressive 2,655 comments and 54,300 individual article reads.
According to our long-standing tradition we are giving away a pair of awards as a token of appreciation to our contributors. The jury panel this month were @aisak, @editor, @halvarvonflake, @magnusf and @raikisan.
Every month, all Headline contributions are included in our traditional honorary prize draw. We're looking for the entries that represent the month's highlight in terms of modeling quality and presentation. We also allot an award to a randomly chosen article to emphasize that all contributions to this site deserve recognition.

iModeler Best in Show - January 2019
Some months ago, Aleksandar Sekularac started teasing us with his Work in Progress thread on a massive Russian bomber - and the final reveal is every bit as good as promised. The maintenance ladders alone are small wonders of PE work, and together with the convincing paint job Aleksandar performed, this build is just a beauty.

But wait, there is more! – the Random Award
We are also awarding a prize as a token of appreciation to all our contributors. This is selected through an entirely random draw among all the entries of the month. This time, our lucky winner is Paul E. Owens with his Tamiya AH-1 Skyraider.

Congratulations to all those great modellers
Congrats Aleksandar and Paul. Well done everyone
Wow! There’s an amazing array of really interesting ideas and beautiful work presented here month after month, day after day and to be named the best among such peers is extremely flattering but also humbling.
We all try to do our best at our current skill level, but what is common, I think, is the inspiration we draw from this pool of positive energy. I am glad I can contribute and will gladly continue to do so!
Many thanks to the jury for this honor and to all of you for your support and encouragement along the way.
Also, my congratulations go to all other fellow imodelers who made it on this list!
Keep on building!
Cheers,
Aleks
P.S. I finally figured out why all my images appear washed out and dark when I upload them online. It was the wrong “Color Space” that Lightroom used to export images as Jpegs and most browser can’t interpret. So, for all those who maybe also shoot “raw” and then post-process images, make sure you use “sRGB” and not something else for online use. I now corrected all the photos in my original article (linked above) and uploaded them again, leaving only the title image in duplicate to show the difference. Hope this makes sense, at least to some of you. End of digression…
That model is just stupendous, Aleks. Didn't surprise me one bit it landed where it did.
Great selections again. Several are worthy of the high honor, but congrats to Aleks! The plane is outstanding, the PE ladders... above and beyond.
🙂 … Greetings … 🙂 :
A very well deserved award Aleksander, very outstanding work, congratulations.
Seeing all these great work, one can really get to understand the time consuming task it takes to just pick one … congratulations too all.
Museum quality from masterclass modelers. Well done and congrats to all.
@asekular
Great to see this build top of the sprue tree. Couldn’t have chosen a better man - the WiP was a joy to follow and to see it come out on top of such a high quality list must be a very nice feeling.
Well done to all. Standard gets better every month.
