My First Natural Metal Finish
This is an Academy 1/48 MiG-21 that I built to do in natural metal finish, my first. I used the technique found in AK's book FAQ using Tamiya paints primarily along with other things such as pencil lead, both drawn on and powdered. I was pleased with the results.
Dan, I would be pleased too! AK seems to have provided a great technique, but you surely proved that it was a worthwhile (and teachable) method. Well done!
Looks good, Dan, welcome to iModeller, you’ve mastered the technique.
You should be pleased with your results. This is a very realistic NMF and a really impressive model.
I agree with Tom, it looks very realistic.
Very nicely done! I love Mig-21s, especially silver ones.
You can be really proud of this result, Dan @wig41
A superb NMF, nice shading.
Welcome to this great community.
Excellent MiG-21, Dan!
Welcome aboard!
Great result, Dan! Welcome to iModeler. Hope to see more of this fine work.
Thank you all for your kind comments.
Sharp looking model!
Excellent NMF! And a great-looking model all the way around - well done.
All of the above, Great looking Mig 21!
Nice NMF finish, you made a great looking MiG-21!
That's a fine looking MiG-21! 👍 And, welcome to iModeler! 😃
That is a really nice looking model you have done there Dan Muller (@wig41). It does look fantastic.
There are so many models that I'd like to build and MIG's are definitely on my list. I like to pair counter parts together. So I did a Spit and a BF109E. Being English, I'd love to pair say an RAF Phantom, Tornado or Typhoon (Eurofighter) with a MIG from it's respective era. I love the MIG 29's and Su 27's 🙂
Thank you for your comment Scott. I tend to do the same kind of pairing, especially when displayed.
