Vickers Wellington Ic Special Hobby 1/72 Maritime Patrol
Today, more about the model itself than about history because, as you may remember, Wellington from the (Polish) 304 squadron has already appeared on the pages of iModeler.
This set is a short run set, but unlike many other models made using this technique, it assembles very well with a bit of practice. The end result exceeded my expectations. It was an extremely fun build with no major problems.
Difficult things include making holes in the side walls of the fuselage (this can be bypassed by simply painting an aircraft that does not have them). Moreover, it takes some time to properly assemble and paint the turret glazing. The chassis legs require a bit of dry fitting, but there is no tragedy here. For the chassis, I used resin wheels, but you can easily use those from the set if you are less demanding.
The manufacturer offers many resin accessories for this model, such as the fuselage equipment, which, apart from the pilot's compartment, is completely invisible. Just like the Bristol Pegasus resin engines I used. After covering them with the front cover, almost nothing of my work is visible π I really like the texture of the upholstery in this model. It's really not exaggerated, delicate, but visible. The model's glazing, apart from the side windows of the deck gunners, is acceptable and looks quite nice.
Well, I guess that's it. Or maybe you have some questions about construction? I will be happy to answer π Painting with Mr Color paints, of course. I used the new Off-White paint here, giving an effect that suggests repainting the hull. Finally, a word about decals. They are perfectly decent... I recommend the model to more advanced modelers who want something more from building a model.
PS. This dog on diorama was division mascot, and was called Chocolade, but I didn't find foxterier as a resin figure, so I made chocolade Labrador π
