A Pair of Mustangs
These photographs are from my latest builds, two P-51 D Mustangs. I included the two articles about the P-51D Mustangs and their pilots. I built each model in 1/48 scale. The first Mustang is from Hobby Boss. The kit is No. 85806 and it is an easy to assemble model. The decals for "Kwitcherbitchlin" are from SuperScale No. 48-1152.
The second kit is from Tamiya, model No. 61040. It is a highly detailed aircraft of much better quality. I chose to make the model into the "Jersey J**k" version using decals from MICROSCALE No. 48-39.
Major Strait, pilot of the Jersey J**k, grew up a couple of towns away from my hometown. He used to watch planes take off and land at Curtiss Wright Airport as a child. I did the same thing 20 years later. I love that we had that in common!
Those are both great looking Mustangs!
Thanks
great building and really neat photography. Excellent job on both!
Thanks
Excellent job on both, Robert! Happy new year!
Thanks and same to you.
Very impressive builds, Robert @bsc4849
The nose art of the Jersey J**k looks to be quite difficult to achieve, but yours looks perfect.
Happy 2025.
Thanks John, it’s amazing what you can do with the right decals.
Both look really nice, Robert. Well done.
Thanks
