Tamiya 1/48 F4U-1 Bird Cage Corsair VMF-213
I assembled and painted the Tamiya Corsair in about 5 days. The painting was done mainly by hand with a brush. I used a light gray color that is not very noticeable on the panel lines to make the model look bigger than it is.
What a beautiful looking F4, Seiji @sjk
Your hand brush skills are fantastic, no streaks visible.
Well done.
Thank you. I always use a soft brushs to prevent streaks of painting.
Amazing model, Seiji!
Agree, with @johnb : fantastic hand brushing results!
Thank you. Hand painting is fun.
Fantastic weathered finish- you are a master! Thanks for sharing your build- it inspires me to get my Corsairs finished!
Thanks. I hope you enjoy making corsairs.
Great brushwork, Seiji! That’s a skill I’d like to regain.
Thanks. I hope you will enjoy painting with brushes, trying again and again.
Brushes are beautiful. Nice job.
Thanks!
Very nice looking Corsair. I do a lot of brush painting as well.
Thank you. I think your work is excellent.
Wow, just amazing, looks like real! Great work!
Thank you. I'm glad I'm making an effort to make it look real.
I was a brush painter until about 3 years ago, but I've never been able to get that kind of weathered look to a monochromatic finish like you did! Man that looks awesome! A real beauty!
Thank you. I think the most important thing is to have fun, no matter what means you are using.
Impressive brush work.
Thanks!
There is something to say about old school vs today's contemporary use of airbrushes, glues, paints, pigments and the expense of buying maintaining and using all of that material, when a good brush can do the same.
Two thumbs up on the art work Seji.
Thank you. I like the fact that brushes are easy to achieve what I aim for. I have an airbrush, but I will never stop painting with a brush.
Very nice work, the overall look is great! The finish on your build is amazing!
Thanks!
Seiji - not to sound repetitive, but your brush work is very inspiring indeed.
Thank you. I'm glad to hear it.
