Navy vet, California born and raised. Pretty much came back home after my wonderful adventure in the Navy. Now working in the Automotive industry in the IE in So Cal. Enjoying the So Cal lifestyle. Year around modeling, sports, photography and home gardening. My main subject is Naval aviation in 48th scale. But I don't limit myself as WWII subjects of all nations and aircraft that participated in that conflict I will build as well, some armor, a ship here and there and for a change of pace a car. As a kid that is where it all began with the old MPC Monkee Mobile in 1/25 scale. Thats me in a nutshell.
First I want to thank Martin and his team for this amazing site to share our love of creating miniatures of armor, aviation, ships, figures, automobiles, sci fi and other subjects of interest. Also Louis Gardner, the moderator of the [...]
Finally able to post this build that was completed in January. Tamiya's excellent Fw-190 F-8, in a desert Scheme of RLM 79/80/76. It was completed about the same time as the D-9 posted earlier, but delayed only because I had snapped the [...]
One of my older builds from the mid 90's. I started building my current stash back in the early 90's. Living in the East Coast I started picking up more kits to bring back with me when I returned home to So California. Not only Tamiya [...]
Late August 1945, as Capt McLaughlin (fictional) views the moonlit Pacific out of the cockpit of his P-38M. The drones of the supercharged Allisons like music in his ears. The war is over, though being in the war zone since mid summer, [...]
First completed model for the new year. Tamiya's D-9 is an excellent kit. Straight forward build. Added just Eduard's cockpit zoom set and Eagle Strike Decals for the scheme of RLM 82/83/76. Really like this late camo scheme the [...]
Happy New year everyone as today I will preview what I have planned for the new year. New projects are mostly 48th scale for the most part, have not decided what to build in 72nd scale as yet. A little variety and looking forward to [...]
Well I was able to complete 4 of the 12 subjects in 2016, though I was also able to start 10 of the 12. With 4 new projects on the bench with 3 older projects still on going. Even one unplanned build was completed. So all in all it was [...]
Late in the Hellcat mini informal GB, is one that I built when the kit was relatively new from Hasegawa. Around 1997 I built this one back in the day when the world wide web was still growing. The days when Fine Scale Modeler, Scale [...]
The excellent Revell F-101B new tool kit first appeared in 1993. Can you believe how old it is now. This one I've had this long as I bought in Hobby Haven in Milford, Ct when it was first released by Revell. I was TAD at Sikorsky [...]
This GB was an excellent idea from Greg Kittinger, though not part of the build plan for this year, it did allow me to squeeze it in though and it was a pleasure to be able to complete it. I had at first to start working on the Academy [...]
