When Tamiya came out with their excellent Corsair, I had to jump at the chance to build one. Of coarse this led to another and another, and so on. You know how that is !
Plenty has been said about the kit, over the last few years so I'll [...]
I haven't posted in a bit as I continue on with my Trumpeter A-1H build. I decided I wanted a pilot in the cockpit, but my choices in 1/32 were pretty much...nadda. The ZM pilot is hard to find, and not all that great. Aerobonus does [...]
While working on the two armor kits I recently posted I listened to the Audible version of Tom Cleaver’s Holding the Line, a Book about the naval air war in Korea. The book was very enjoyable and inspired me to build a Korean War [...]

It is the Corsair F4U-4 (1/48) from Revell dated 1963.
The model represents a plane from VMF-214 Black Sheep squadron in July 1951.
Got this model from my daughter [...]

This particular model represents an F4U flown by Major [...]

This is my Tamiya RNZAF Corsair.
It's a beautiful kit and really needs no aftermarket to make a fantastic model.
Nonetheless I added some HGW seatbelts as well as Barracuda cockpit stencils and various bits of wiring to the cockpit.
I also [...]
Revell's quite recent kit of the F4U-4 which has some short cuts and emmisions due to being offered as both an F4U-1 and F4U-4. I didn't bother with most of the inaccuracies and built the kit mostly out of the box. The overall shape [...]
This is Revell's 1/32 Corsair from around the time I was born, so it's old. I picked it up for £10 during last year's Black Friday sales, due to the minimal investment I felt it was a ripe candidate for experimentation and it's the first [...]
