When I was on the road with Collings I shot hours of video footage. The GoPro camera really opened new avenues of filming. I haven't posted many videos, more or less a lack of time to edit, but I'll slowly add more as time permits. The first vid[...]
Hey folks... so this is a Tamiya 1:48 Mustang and as such requires very little in the way of explanation or comment from me.
However I would crave your collective indulgence for just a moment or two... Over the years I believe I've built about [...]
This is my attempt at Hasegawa’s 1/48 Mustang. Boxed by Italeri, it comes with an attractive decal sheet depicting 4 RAF Mustangs, and being a s****r for a sharkmouth aircraft, that is the one I chose. There is no way a P-51 do[...]
This kit is from Airfix it's a 1/48 scale. It was really easy to build. The decals was not very good so I painted lightning and black bands myself. I do a very hard weathering for fun 😆. That all hope you will like my first ww2 model.
I had originally planned to build the kit´s clone, ICM/Revell´s Mustang Mk.III, but after getting frustrated with the warped fuselage halves, I decided to get the real thing.
The Tamiya kit was a pleasure to build, everything fitted perfectly.
Here's my favorite Monogram kit of all time, the 1/48 P-51B. Over the years I must have built at least six of these (with another 5 in the stash). It is the original mold kit, not the Pro-Modeler re do that came later.
It was built pretty much[...]
For me, one of the most intimidating aspects of building a Mustang is the exhaust trail. Merlin's don't really put out black "soot"...they discolor the surrounding metal into a beautiful rainbow with a touch of lead deposits, giving a light grey[...]
A commission build complete earlier this year. Not a bad kit, but at 1:32 it is really lacking in detail in the cockpit...very basic indeed! The pilot figure was added from aftermarket. I had to reshape the carburettor intake as the kit offering[...]
My most recent addition to the Nose Art Group build is Tamiya's really nice but old P-51D, "Passion Wagon". This A/C was flown by Lt Arvil Roberson assigned to the 362nd Fighter Squadron, 357th Fighter Group. They were the first 8th Air Force un[...]
Enough of my OD posts for today.
Two 1/72 P-51 ponies of the 4th FG.
First up is an Academy P-51B with homemade decals (what little there is anyway) in the markings of Col. Donald Blakeslee. OOB
Second, an Airfix P51D in markings from a Supers[...]
