Airfix 1/48 RAAF P-51 Mustang

in livery. Kit is built out of box with an added photo etched lap belt. It is a nice kit overall but the landing gear is a little flimsy. I used Vallejo paints and did weathering with artist oils, thinned acrylics, Tamiya weathering powder, and a sponge for chipping.

    Interesting tail color as well.

  3. I love these Brit Ponies. You got the best out of this kit David, well done indeed

  4. Great build and finish. Interior is super-special...including those floor scuff marks.

  5. Wow Dave this is a really nice 'Stang, I love the way you have worn the paint on the walkways to show the primer then the bare metal as well, I'm going to pinch that idea it looks great.
    Well done.

    • Thanks! I used a torn sponge with Vallejo aluminum to show the worn metal, then I lightly went over it with the basecoat color so that it was more subdued but still showing. Finally I went over it again with the sponge and aluminum. I appreciate your kind words

  6. Looks great - love the scheme, and nice paint and weathering work. Well done!

  7. Nothing quite as attractive as Mustang in RAF colors. Looks like you had a fun time building this. It shows.
