Tamiya scale model kits

Red Bull Racing Renault RB6 Formula One car, Tamiya, 1/20th

Here's my latest build, and the last one for 2016. The RB6 was introduced for the 2010 season and was an evolution of the RB4 and RB5 that came before it. These cars featured a revolutionary aerodynamic feature known as the [...]

1/48 Tamiya F4U-1 Birdcage Corsair “Daphne C” Bureau number 03829, VMF-213, Captain James Cupp

Tonight's article is about the second F4U from my very first article here on Imodeller. This one is hot off the work bench. It's one of 3 early Corsair builds that I had going on at the same time. Two were by Tamiya and one was from [...]

Homage to Jim Goodson

I am late, I know. He died more than two years ago. But I actually built this diorama before his death. James Goodson has always been one of my favorite air aces of WII. He is one of those guys that never achieved the popular status some [...]

Beaufighter TF.X by Tamiya in 1/48 scale

Needing something simpler after my last build I opted for Tamiya's Beaufighter TF.X & discovered a wealth of detail on the web for Coastal Command squadrons based at RAF Dallachy in Scotland. I was lucky to find Aviaeology decals for [...]

1/35 Tamiya M-48A-3 90MM from the 11th Cavalry in Vietnam

Tonight's article is about this model that I built about 3 years ago. This is Tamiya kit number 35120 and I built it with a few modifications. I used the kit decals that were provided for the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment. The first [...]

TAMIYA 1/48 SPITFIRE MK.Vb NIGHT FIGHTER

Spitfire Mk.Vb JU•H(possibly s/n W3848) from 111sqn and flown by Sgt Peter Durnford at Debden, December, 1941

WILDCATS, WILDCATS and MORE WILDCATS

Here are a few of the F4F's that I've built over the years. As one might guess, Grumman's F4F is one of my favorite fighter aircraft, (Followed close by the P-40 and P-47). There is one 1:32 scale Trumpeter, two are 1:48 scale Hobby Boss [...]

Martlet – second build since return

Here is my second attempt since returning to the hobby after too many years. I have smiled on a daily basis watching all of the Hellcats and now a Wildcat or 6 going up. And here's my novice attempt purely through coincidence. I recently [...]

"Yonder they come!" December 7 (8) 1941 Philippines

Built this little dio a couple years ago, in line with my lifelong interest in the Philippine fiasco of '41-'42. Tried to represent a mad scramble of the 34th Pursuit squadron at Del Carmen field on the Day of Infamy. The opening title is [...]

1/48 Tamiya US M20 Greyhoud

Another one of those fun little 1/48 Tamiya Armour builds. Only issue i had was the decals sucks. To thick and keep cracking. I was able to fix it with touch up paint and weathering. Back to my Tomcat now 🙂 Cheers Brian
