Tigershark

December 11, 2024 · in Aviation · · 11 · 231

Last time I posted a What If build here was 2021, since then I've been a little distracted by 'real world' builds, so thought... why not have some actual 'fun' with a quick project. Cracked-open this old kit about three weeks ago and other than the scratch-built 'Jaguar style' ECM bar on the fin and the loadout from an unsuspecting Rafale and F-16, it is completely OOB. Decals are from a long out of production Zotz sheet (also for F-16's), the teeth tho' are from an even older Microscale F-5E sheet.

Not too much else to say, nice relaxing & stress free build and I thoroughly enjoyed... a little sad when it came to an end TBH.

  1. I remember seeing Yeager fly the real thing, way back in 1982. It was a real "performer."

    This is a nice "whiffer."

    • Yeah I remember that too maybe like 1985 Tom. The General proclaimed the F-20 to be a world beater. The F-16C was coming on line about that time. I ran into Yeager in of all places the Tulsa airport in 1990. He did love flying the F-20. He told me he could do anything in it!

  2. Could'a Would'a Should'a - the best fighter not ordered by anyone.
Very nice work on your 'Thai' fighter, Ian.
Great work on the missiles also.

  3. Very nice model… great workmanship

  4. Excellent "what if" model, Ian!

  5. Nice job, Ian (@ij001). I always thought the Tigershark was a really cool looking plane. The Monogram kit still builds into a great model. Well done.

  6. One of the best looking planes ever, Ian @ij001
You created a very nice variant of it.

  7. This "What If" Tiger Shark looks great, I love the paint scheme and that shark mouth!

  8. You know - I've resisted the idea of doing a "what-if" for several decades, but I've seen a couple of F-20's now done in what-if schemes, and its got me thinking I might want to do one! This is another fantastic edition on that theme! Well done.
