Building models since age 7 (except for a short respite in my military years). Enjoying it now more than ever. I build across the spectrum but am biased towards towards historical miniatures and military vehicles.
Finished a biplane with rigging for the first time in ages. Lots of fun and challenges. The Eduard kit was great as usual, but has a 3-part fuselage assembly that presented some fit challenges that that led to me to do some over done [...]
Took a detour with a fun project. If you need a change of pace you should give one of these a try. Great fit and little clean up needed. I went with a cartoon look. I'm nothing if not creative. Ha Ha
SilverCon 2018 Air entries. Again a lot of very competitive entries. The biplane field was particularly crowded.
SilverCon 2018 Ground Categories. A wide variety of high quality vehicles, figures and dioramas. The Sturmtiger with interior was particularly inventive and well done.
I attended SilverCon 2018 in Northern California last weekend. Great contest! High quality, very competitive entries. Best of Show went to a phenomenal 1/48 B-25. Best entry in the theme '1918' went to Du Schweinehunt! An incredible [...]

The fuselage markings and unusual black coloring attracted me to this kit. I'd avoided biplanes for a long time out of rigging anxiety. This one has mercifully little. This project also gave me an opportunity to try some wood grain [...]
Had to take a hiatus to sell our house and move into an apartment until the new house is finished.
Got back to models with this great little gem. Haven't set up an airbrush station yet so did all the painting by brush. Used AK [...]
Nice little kit but smoothing in the big windshield area was challenging. Built it to compliment a Hasagawa 1:200 C-130. Is a 1:72 next?
