Baby boomer trying his hand at building models again for the first time. Things have certainly changed since I was 16. Tube cement, small testors bottles of paint and some decals, what more was needed? Started building again in 2009 and have begun learning some new skills and techniques ever since. Have lots of appreciation for those that do excellent work with this hobby, some of the results are truely museum quality. Hope to pass on a love for this hobby to my grandson.

Revell 1/48 Douglas A-4 Skyhawk

Monogram 1/48 F-102 Delta Dagger

Here's the old Monogram kit from the 90's,always liked the Century Series fighters so gave this one a try. It's all out of the box and let me state upfront it's big and requires a fair share of shelf space to display. Found the Falcon [...]

Monogram 1/48 Mig-15 bis

I seem to have a Korea War interest these days and wanted to do a Mig as well as an F-86 Saber jet. Started the Saber with the Academy kit but ended up ruining it, however a Revell replacement is in the works. Lots is known about the Mig [...]

1/48 Monogram C-47

Built this kit several years ago and it was my first try at a multi-engine aircraft, after years of absence from this hobby. Built it to honor my dad who made 21 jumps from this type during the war. It's no show stopper but he was proud to [...]

1/48 Accurate Miniatures Mustang Mk. 1A

This is the AM rendition of the Allison engine Mustang used by the Brits. Finished as a photo Recon bird and built pretty much out of the box a couple of years ago. Really hated to see AM fold as I liked their Mustang kits as well as their [...]

1/48 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I

This is Tamiya's 1/48 scale kit that I purchased at a show several years ago. Had previously done the Revell kit but was never quite satisfied with how it looked, so I thought I would try Tamiya. Really went together quite well only thing [...]

1/48 Revell B-25J

Finished about two years ago after I purchased the decals form Bombshell Decals. And they are the bomb, pun intended. Pretty much OOB with just True Detail wheels and the decals added. Use Tamiya and Model Master paints from rattle cans, [...]

AMT 1/48 P-40N

So my grandson and I are at the Lunken Airport open house last spring and we're watching the B-17 Aluminum Overcast giving rides. And wouldn't you know it some of the folks selling souvenirs that day also have some models to sell. I hate [...]

1/48 Minicraft F-5E Lightning

So a co-worker throws this kit on my desk and states I hear you build models, got this for $10 so have some fun. Well who wouldn't want to build one of the most successful reconnaissance aircraft from WWII, and besides I like P-38's. [...]
