I picked this one up at a local model show for $10. Again built stock out-of-box. Painted with Model Master acrylics and weathered with oil washes, filters and pastels. Figure painting is certainly not my forte, especially modern US 3-tone [...]
Nothing special about this one. A classic Tamiya kit that still holds up well even more than 30 years after its original release. I built mine stock out-of-the-box. Painted with Tamiya acrylics. A nice, quick and pleasant build.
A nice way to turn a $30 kit into a $150 model. Tamiya's excellent F4F-4 with the Cutting Edge conversion set to do the F4F-3S "Wildcatfish." and the Just Plane Stuff F3F-3 wing set. The sets included new non-folding wings [...]
Still on an armor run. This one was actually a great surprise Boithday gift from my kid last year (January 22) and a fabulous gift it was. I probably never would have bothered to get it, as it came in a three-installment deal in concert [...]
A long time ago in a galaxy far away, I had the idea of building the 1:72 Trumpeter Lightning F.2A kit. It looked great in the box, so it should be a nice quick little build, eh? Those of you who are familiar with that kit and its foils [...]
I am one of Vic Russell's partners in the this AMS Relief project. I'm not sure it was entirely effective, in my case...;-), I built this kit when was first released it and I remember it being a " beer & pretzel" weekend [...]

The Hasegawa P-12E, done with kit decals for the B Flight leader of the 6th Pursuit Squadron in Hawaii, circa 1932-33. Kit was modified with a tail skid, and the wingtip lights were changed from the Navy version.
This is not a recently finished model but one of my favourites. This was built with the markings of 1/ NJG1 ( May 1945)
Photo edge instrument panel and the seat belts are from Eduard.
Painting was done with Gunze Sangyo and Tamiya [...]
Further proof of how good the Hasegawa 1/32 "Between the wars" kits are. The raised panel detail on this kit is dead-on, comparing it with the 1:1 P-12E (painted as an F4B-3) at Chino. My old friend the late Dick Best (the man [...]
