Just finished this one today. The markings represent Neil Armstrongs F9F-2. He was shot down in this aircraft on Sept 3, 1951. While on a armed reconnaissance mission south of Wonsan, he was hit by ground fire while making a bombing run at [...]
Heads up re: Revell and Revell of Germany
Hobbico, which owns both Revell and Revell of Germany, went bankrupt awhile back.

Year of the Cat
this is the Hobby Boss F8F-1 straight from the box. A great build and I think the Hobby Boss kit is a wonderful kit of their aircraft. I used the kit decals and they represent an A/C of VF-3 flown by Lt A.M.Granat in 1946.

When Louis announced the group all those months ago, and with its closing date being quite some way distant, I decided to go for three builds. Three kits whose fates were already planned (although the ‘109 E7 Trop’ took a few twists [...]

1/350 French Battleship Dunkerque

I have not tried to weathering, except for the low hull. I expressed the panel by using shading.
Someone [...]
1/48 FW-190D-11, JV 44, “A Wulf in Parrots clothing”
This is the Hobbyboss FW-190D-11 in 1/48. Its a nice kit, with good engineering and crisp, delicate recessed detail. It requires a little modification to be an accurate D-11 (mis-located wing guns, no upper or lower wing bulges, upper gun [...]
Hobbyboss 1/48 FW-190D-9, Halle, Germany, 1945
Here's my Hobbyboss FW-190D-9, of II/JG6 in May 1945. Its a very nice kit, but could use a few tweeks to make it really stand out. I really like the patched together scheme's of wars end.
True Details seat and Ultracast exhaust, Mike Grant [...]
