2018…I actually finished something this year!!!

I always looks at everyone's compendiums with awe at both the quality and quantity. This is the first year I have ever finished more than one build. I counted it up and I was amazed that I actually finished 7. Its a Christmas miracle. Anyway here is everything from this year.

Martlet-nice and easy kit that I had to guess at after I left the instructions back in Ohio.
P-51-fantastic kit to practice finishes on. Had to borrow decals from an Eduard Spitfire and built and finished it in a hotel room in Virginia.
Tamiya 1/48 F4U-This was the first kit I bought when i got back in the hobby back in 2005 at the Austin IPMS show. I started it when I was stationed in Ohio, continued when in Utah, and just finished it while I'm in Florida.
Tamiya 1/48 Beaufighter-My first big plane. Tried out a whole bunch of firsts on this one.
Hobbyboss Alfa-My first ship. Really enjoyed this nice and easy kit to the tune of buying another two 1/350 subs to start on. Even then I managed to have to repaint this twice.
1/I forget Ecto-1A-Just a quick build to rejuvenate me and for something completely different.
Tamiya 1/48 FW-190/A8-Literally just put the dangly bits on this morning. Its about 99% there with just some pastels and chipping left. My first German aircraft.

I've got 5 more on the bench in varying stages of completion so I hope for even better results next year.

Thanks for looking and Happy Holidays and New Year.

Cheers,
Mike

  1. You are quite the traveler, Michael! Those are all excellent builds. I got a chuckle from the AMT Ecto-1A. I had no idea a kit exists for that one! I really like your Beaufighter, though I personally prefer the fighter or bomber nose. I have a friend whose ex-Mother-in-Law's ex-husband (a lot of exes there! LoL!) flew Beaufighters during WWII. Sadly - for me - I never got to meet the Gent as he had passed before I met the Mother-in-Law I mentioned.

    Really nice planes, Michael!

  2. A nice variety of builds, they look great, I have the Martlet in my stash.

  3. Great stuff all around!

  4. Very nice collection - well done!
