I have been building models for 47 of the last 53 years, and I build everything. Literally. I currently reside in New Westminster, BC, Canada, which is a suburb of Vancouver, and am an active member of IPMS Vancouver. I am a mostly OOB builder, but on occasion will venture into the murky realms of AMS. I am trending lately into sci-fi and fantasy, with a lot of time spent working on vinyl monsters and large figures from gaming systems, specifically dragons. I feel that there is a sad lack of dragons in this world. I am still building the usual stuff, but not two or three or more of the same thing. Just one, maybe two, and strictly OOB for in club build contests.
Newest finished piece. This is The Dungeonmaster, a 120mm, 6 part resin kit from the now defunct company, Verlinden. I have had this kit for nearly 15 years, and finally decided I could do it justice. It was primed with Mr. Surfacer 1500 [...]
This was built absolutely straight from the box, and finished with Tamiya spray color TS-41 Coral Blue that I decanted and applied with my Iwata HP-CS. Everything in the engine bay was all brush painted, and the interior was very [...]
Greetings monster lovers! Today's offering is the Pegasus 1/12th scale solid vinyl "Mbwun" monster from 1997 movie 'Relic'. I started with a base coat of Tamiya Acrylic Deck Tan, then detailed it out with Vallejo inks and [...]
This is the Alien from Steven Spielberg's 2005 version of 'The War of the Worlds'. This and the tri-pod fighting machine (which I also have), are the best things about this movie. This kit is multi-media, having styrene plastic legs and [...]
This is the Martian from George Pal's 1953 movie 'War of the Worlds'. This kit was a fairly simple build. I base coated it in Tamiya spray bomb fine grey primer. After that, the hardest part was hand painting all of the veins and [...]
I built this old school kit in an old school style. No putty, so there are seams, but I didn't want to sand off all of the rivets! I used my airbrush to apply the Dark Earth and Dark Green RAF Camo, but the decals were unusable, so I [...]
Most recent vinyl beastie model completed. This the 1/12th scale 1997 Revell-Monogram Pro-Modeler hollow vinyl version of the Mbwun guardian creature of the Kothoga tribe from the book and movie, "Relic". Main colours are all [...]
I built this one just because I could. Totally out of the box, with paint by Testors Model Master enamels, washes by AK Interactives, and decals from the box that fought me tooth and nail. Even the photo-etch seatbelts were less trouble [...]
This one has been languishing on my shelf for nearly 5 years, and I finally decided to finish it. Old school. All finishing has been applied with a paintbrush. The colours are all Testors Model Master Enamels, with a brushed gloss coat [...]
Started this one in January as a hedge against the missing parts in the Kinetic Sufa,(which showed up too late for the deadline) and the unavailability of the Skunkworks F-16XL. Cheap, quick, cool markings. Turned out to be very cheap. [...]
