I'm a mechanical engineer by trade, working in the automotive manufacturing sector for a company known globally. This modelling hobby is one of my more stress-free creative outlets, which rewards my love of building and crafting, as well as my curiosity to learn the history and background that can be told about each model subject.

My interests are across the board (ships, cars, planes, motorcycles, etc), but to limit my stash, I've tried to keep my choices to US subjects; 1:48 planes and 1:700 for ships, full hull display. Additional preferences include 1/24 cars, and 1/12 motorcycles.

Typically I post builds as I finish them, but I have many older builds that I may get around to sharing at some point as well.

Honda Monkey 125 – Tamiya 1/12

Completed this week is a fun little build that was a nice and enjoyable "Tamiya build", and a great break from the beloved winged things. Quality of the kit's engineering, parts' detail, and.. well, everything is the usual Tamiya [...]

USS West Virginia BB-48 1945Trumpeter 1/700

So... On a whim, figured I post one of my ships on here. This is Trumpeter's 1/700 West Virginia '45 kit, which is very similar to all the Big 5 kits that Trumpeter has put forth. It's a pretty good kit, but as with most ships, I felt the [...]

Cessna O-2A Skymaster - ICM 1/48

This will likely - and unfortunately - be the last off my bench for 2020. Happily so though, I can finally put it in the display case, and pray that the landing gear doesn't collapse anymore... This kit is the new tool ICM O-2A Skymaster, [...]

Experimental: Curtiss XP-55 AscenderModelsvit 1/48

Another one completed for the shelf, this time another popular kit from Modelsvit, the Curtiss XP-55 Ascender. This plane is unique for a number of reasons, but most obvious is its swept wing profile and its rear facing pusher prop. I [...]

Piper L-4 Cub / GrasshopperSměr 1/48

I bring you a recently completed model that took neither much time, nor much effort, but which has produced a cool little airplane. To begin, I bought this kit after seeing one in person at an airshow last month. The airshow (or fly-in) [...]

Cessna A-37B Dragonfly – Trumpeter 1/48

The second kit I've got to share today is Trumpeter's A-37B Dragonfly, or Super Tweet as it is often called. I love the look of this plane, not only because of it's form, but also because despite it's diminutive size, it was all business. [...]

Douglas A-1H Skyraider – Tamiya 1/48

Today's first post brings another work I've just put some finishing touches onto. The kit is, of course, Tamiya's venerable 1/48 scale "Bumble-Bee boxing". I chose to build this out of the box, as I liked the look of the VA-52 [...]

What-If Build: Grumman F5F-2 – 1/48 Minicraft

Fresh off the workbench is Minicraft's gem-of-a-kit, that is, their Long-Nose XF5F... schemed-out in a what-if 1943 Tri-tone Blue. This is my third Navy whiffer and I can say I'm happy with the slightly esoteric and (for me anyway) [...]

What-If Build: North American FJ-1 (P-51)Revell 1/48

Or would it have been an FJ-0, and by what name... "Seahorse"? "Fury"? 🙂 This one was purely for fun, just wanted to share. I did this one up some time ago.. not really good by any means, nor was it ever meant to be. [...]

North American P-51H MustangModelsvit 1/48

As an addition to Eric's recent post and lovely California ANG built P-51H, I'd like to finally share my Texas ANG P-51H, built completely OOB, with exception of the use of Eduard belts. I began this build back in Oct/Nov, and had at the [...]
