Dad was on Spitfires. Back modelling having got hooked after building 32 scale models of the planes he flew. Don't know where to put them all!
Last build of the year. SECOND attempt at AMG's Hart for which the instructions can lead you well astray! This is quite an expensive kit to have to have two attempts not being an Eduard Dual Combo. First attempt I tried to be smart and do [...]
Busy on HK Models 1/48 lanc having relegated my Tamiya to the ceiling! Took the Aries engines out of the Tamiya and having built a couple of HK engines the Aries one seems noticably larger. Anyone got any clues which one is likely to be [...]
Having made a complete mess of my first 1/48 Eduard 110G-4 I tracked down a Revell version on E Bay. This was a much easier build BUT as everyone knows the nacelles and spinners are wrong. You can see I've shaped them myself and put on the [...]
Got it done. Really nice kit. Decals haven't quite settled yet in these pics. Decals were actually very stubborn. Aftermarket rockets were the only extra.
Not much in the way of stencils. Can't say I was sorry but no "don't [...]
Had time on the way to a meeting near Bristol to call in at Cosford. Many of you will have been. There are some very rare birds in there. A Bf 410 Hornisse. A Boulton Paul Defiant among others. Also the famous 109G "Black 6"
On [...]

After my failure on (link) and a wigging from Tom Cleaver who told me in so many words as to not be such a Girls Blouse 🙂 I bought another one and this time its ok!
I had to do Warburton's aircraft so had to scratch decals together so [...]
Just attempted this. It's in the bin. Most ill fitting piece of junk I've yet to encounter. I should know because I built their JU 88 Recon, although it didn't get binned. Why all the resin interior parts? Injection is just as detailed and [...]
Malta is an amazing air war story.
Denis Barnham's book One Man's Window (later reissued as Malta Spitfire Pilot - crappy retitling!) was the best book I've ever read about being there.
L - R Revell JU-88 (not many were desert camo), [...]
My Father completed primary training in Georgia, USA. Before being posted 61 OTU Rednal and thence to 243 Squadron Spitfires he spent quite a few months of 1942 towing Hotspur gliders at the No 4 Glider Training School, Kidlington (Now [...]
