Eduard Weekend Bf-109E-1 kit, mated to Alley Cat's Bf-109B-2 conversion, using the Alley Cat decals. Lots of folks (thanks to the "experts" - as my father with 150 independent patents once described an "expert": a drip under pressure) don't rea[...]
As the Second World War drew to a close, the last primary operational Bf 109 fighter variant, the K-4, was introduced to the skies. The Bf 109K-4 was a pressurized-cabin, high-altitude capable fighter-interceptor that would draw to a close Mes[...]
Well maybe not exciting, interesting perhaps, but maybe not, mildly amusing?....oh never mind. I was sitting the other day with nothing to do (300 plus model kits all over the place and nothing to do? hmmm. Maybe my wife is right.) and started t[...]
My planes just keep on getting bigger, actually I've always loved the b-29. As an avid fan of WWII it was a must to be a fan of the b-29 considering it was the plane that dropped the nuclear bombs on Japan. Originally I was going to purchase the[...]

Nothing special about this one. A classic Tamiya kit that still holds up well even more than 30 years after its original release. I built mine stock out-of-the-box. Painted with Tamiya acrylics. A nice, quick and pleasant build.
A nice way to turn a $30 kit into a $150 model. Tamiya's excellent F4F-4 with the Cutting Edge conversion set to do the F4F-3S "Wildcatfish." and the Just Plane Stuff F3F-3 wing set. The sets included new non-folding wings (JPS) and the ponto[...]
A long time ago in a galaxy far away, I had the idea of building the 1:72 Trumpeter Lightning F.2A kit. It looked great in the box, so it should be a nice quick little build, eh? Those of you who are familiar with that kit and its foils know tha[...]
