This would be one of my earliest Tamiya kits; built, I think, around 1995. I recently read a magazine article by a fellow modeller about his problems with using the right colour for the topsides & the more I looked at mine , the more [...]
Earlier this afternoon my Hien arrived.
Here's a photo of the box end...
Needless to say, I am very excited about it!
This new kit can be summed up in one word. FANTASTIC! Tamiya has produced another 1/48 scale masterpiece.

This is the Gavia 1/48 Westland Lysander. I hated it. Nothing fitted well, the wings to canopy fit was very hard and decals unusable. I used spares. Even photographing it was a nightmare. A random gust of wind blew it over. I lost a [...]
Another What-If? - Luftwaffe1946: After much drawn out fighting, the Germans finally capitulate.

This was an experiment in flaking paint as well as another captured trials aircraft.
Cheers!
2 pics of older build Tamiya F-84Gs & the rest are for the latest -G bird from Pro-Modeller as promised. - Straight from the box with very flaky, original Korean War decals from Pro-Modeller (Revell) cracking & splintering all over [...]

Here's the background on the build:
Some dates in time, (for some unknown reason), just seem to stick with you. This is one [...]
One of Colonel George Lavens F-84Es from his time in charge over in Europe with the 527th FBS, 86th FBG, USAF .
Decal sheet is by Aeromaster and kit straight OOB otherwise.
Very colourful paint job and a lovely kit to build!
Still on the workbench and propped up to avoid strain on that original, fragile plastic nosewheel leg! - A metal leg would have been nice on this one, especially with all the weight in the nose to contend with!
