1/48 F-18B conversion of Monogram F/A-18

I completed this over Christmas break 2016, but have not been able to photograph it until now. I used the leftover two seat canopy found in the Italeri 1/48 F-18 to convert a Monogram 1/48 F-18 into a two seater. It is sad that Monogram never wo[...]

ProModeler (Monogram) PBY-5A

I'm posting this old (2005) review from Modeling Madness as encouragement for the Midway Group Build. With more than 4,000 of all versions produced over eight years, the Consolidated PBY Catalina easily qualifies as the world’s most successful [...]

Insides, turning out!

Ok, so I wasn't going to go hog wild on stuff you can't see. I only added a few things besides the wooden floors. Resin seats fro Resin2Detail, a lamp some odd details here and there and a couple of charts. I just love these old Monogram kits!

Monogram 1/48 Messerschmitt Me-262 “Red 17”

The Me-262 is, hand's down, my all-time favorite aircraft. I really love them! In fact, when the "Stormbird Project" was building its replicas, I got in touch with them about volunteering. Unfortunately, the commute from central Texas to Seat[...]

Monogram 1/72 UH-16 Albatross

My contribution to the Water Wings group build is this ancient Monogram kit introduced in 1957. Props that rotate, gear that retracts, and a little life boat with downed crew. What kid wouldn't want to build this. Grumman built over 400 Albatross[...]

1/48 Monogram / Mattel P-51B Mustang

I've actually considered not going to model shows because it seems I'm a s****r for picking up very old kits. This P-51B is a show purchase that I've just completed as a fun weekend project. It was fun to build, however, it took me longer than t[...]

Monogram D-335A4 Pfeil Luft’46

Another What-If? - Luftwaffe1946: After much drawn out fighting, the Germans finally capitulate. Leaving behind items such as this D0-335 much abused & repaired Arrow. Replaced wing & lower fin in case you hadn't noticed! Have fun &[...]

Heinz Bär’s Red 23 in 1/48 scale

This was the aircraft he was flying when he made his 200th kill on 22 Apr 1944, a B-24 named Flak Magnet. This Fw190 A7 was his backup plane as his main mount at the time, was usually Red 13. This Monogram kit is from the mid 90’s and is a remak[...]

General Dynamics F-16XL,Monogram 1/72

Got this online awhile back, I think its been in my current stash the longest. Always liked the aircraft, built it wheels up because some of the gear pieces were broken , replaced missing wing tip missile rails ,loaded out for air to air, borrow[...]
